AMETHYST 1.6.0

The Visual Studio 2008 version is
http://www.sapphiresteel.com/downloads/amethyst_beta/amethyst_VS2008_1_6_0_1359d.zip

The Visual Studio 2010 version is
http://www.sapphiresteel.com/downloads/amethyst_beta/amethyst_VS2010_1_6_0_1359d.zip

The bugs and issues that have been fixed in 1.6.0 are:

A new Debugger core replaces the 1.5 core

In this build:

48 Product code should be changed when a new version is released
51 Flash IDE profile properties not enabled
52 Profiles constantly updating FLA
I751 Default SDK in project importer should now be 4.5 (not 4)
I753 VS 2010 project importer does not use the correct template when importing Flex 4.5 projects
I754 fx:Array type is misclassified by the Designer leading to the generation of corrupt MXML
I755 Default for namespace in AIR projects should now be 3.2
I756 The Select Mobile/Tablet device box should allow newer versions of AIR
I757 Project generator did not automatically recognise Flex 4.6 SDK
I758 Services attribute is missing from MSBuild AIR target
I762 Debugger is not handing function objects from FlashPlayer 11 correctly
I763 SWF library references are not refreshed when the swf is changed on disk

I'm getting the following error while attempting to install...
Quote
Error 1001. An exception occurred during the Commit phase of the installation.  This exception will be ignored and installation will continue.  However, the application might not function correctly after installation is complete --> Could not load file or assembly 'Interop.IWshRuntimeLibrary, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=8a42f2...
This error is now also preventing me from uninstalling the previous version.

Please advise.

Thanks,
Jason

Even though the install says that the exception will be ignored, it is not and the install reverts all of it's attempted changes.

I have seen this problem before. For some reason, you are missing the Interop.IWshRuntimeLibrary.dll library. This is installed in the GAC by the Amethyst Installer and it looks like something has removed it when it shouldn't have. This is usually caused by installing software and then uninstalling it. There are two ways to deal with this problem ...

1) find a Interop.IWshRuntimeLibrary.dll and put it somewhere there the installer can find it or put in in the GAC. I've uploaded one to http://sapphiresteel.com/downloads/misc/Interop.IWshRuntimeLibrary.dll. GAC is the best location. Use gacutil to load it.

2) If you are really, really stuck, you can zap the Windows Installer database entries for Amethyst by using msicuu2.exe. I've uploaded one here http://sapphiresteel.com/downloads/misc/msicuu2.exe. However ... BE CAREFUL!!. This utility is no longer provided by MS because it has the ability to completely zap your system and force a reinstall of the OS. It is useful as a last resort, though. Just follow the instructions.

I was able to get GACUtil working.  I no longer use msicuu2.exe as it did crash one of my systems a year or so ago.

msicuu2.exe is a bit lethal sometimes - useful as a last resort though.

We've got rid of the WSH (Windows Scripting Host) in Amethyst 2 - we found a better way of doing the same job.

Additional compiler arguments: -default-size 1200 750
Compile Error: unknown configuration variable "default-size 1200 750".

The problem was in the flex sdk 4_6. After reinstalling the problem has been resolved.
