I have installed Ruby in Steel over VS 2010. When I try to create a new rails project, I fill in the database information (MySQL) and then test the connection. The connection is successful, and then I click OK. At this point, VS stops responding, and the project is never created. Help?

The latest versions of Rails do not support MySQL as well as older ones did (there are ways around this but you may need to install a few extra things to get it to work). Have you tried using SQLite3 as the database? Does this work ok?

Make sure that the Visual Studio Output window pane is visible and have a look to see if there is anything going on in there. At first sight, it looks like the task to build a rails project is being launched, but is never returning or completing. So can you post the output here so we can see what's going on.

As soon as the OK Button is clicked after selecting the database options, VS stops responding to input. The output window never has anything written to it

I can't recreate this problem ... so can you give me some more information ...

1) Can you create a simple 'hello world' ruby project?

2) Where is VS installed?

3) What OS are you using?
