If Flex sdk 4.5 is used then  only Spark components are recognised. I think I've seen this problem before when using pre-release Hero sdks.

I think this is due to the mx controls being in a separate library.

Adobe moved these controls into mx.swc and you may have to include this expicitly. mx.swc is in the mx sub-directory of libs, so just include it by right clicking on the References node and navigating to (on my machine) 'C:\Flex SDKs\flex_sdk_4.5.1.21328\frameworks\libs\mx'
