After installing Ruby In Steel on top of a working Visual Studio 2005 SP1, I got the error "value cannot be null. parameter name:" when I tried to create a new Ruby Project.
I then uninstalled Ruby In Steel and VS 2005 SP1, reinstalled Visual Studio 2005, installed Ruby In Steel. Now, it works. Then, I updated Visual Studio 2005 to SP1, Ruby In Steel still works - no error when creating a Ruby project. So, I'm fine now. Just thought I'd let you know.

Is this under Vista? This is a known problem with the version 1 of Ruby In Steel Trial and Developer editions (which only run on XP). We've since released new versions of both these editions which should solve the problem: http://www.sapphiresteel.com/Error-on-opening-project-value

Can you confirm if this is the same problem?

Thanks

Sorry for the delay - not using Vista - using XP SP2

The problem is not necessarily related to Vista. The FAQ describes two possible scenarios. One is related to Vista, the other is related to bypassing Setup.exe when installing. The same problem is described in this thread. Please let us know if that applies here.

best wishes

Hm...I don't remember if I installed using setup.exe or just the .msi. Sorry. Let's assume it was the same problem.,

BTW, did you get my request to join the registered users area? I haven't gotten a response.
