Anyway of isolating a method source code

So I played with the RubyExplorer and clicking on the method nodes basically moves the cursor to spot in the class source file corresponding to the method in question. However, what I would like is that the text editor ONLY show the code corresponding to the method node I had clicked on or grabbed from the drop down.
Anyway of doing that ?
On a tangent is there a way of visualizing the class hierarchy for both one's code but also kernel code and easily navigating up and viewing the parent's methods ?
thanks in advance.

No, we did talk about implementing a Smalltalk-like interface many years ago but we did not receive much enthusiasm from users
so we have adopted a "standard" Visual Studio interface, similar to C#.
best wishes
