A blank grey box appears when I try to debug.

When I run the debugger (possibly in other circumstances too) a blank grey window appears. No matter how many times I close it, the window keeps reappearing when I next debug.

This is a fairly well-known problem that sometimes shows up in Visual Studio. This empty window may appear when using any Visual Studio language. In fact, the problem predates the release of Ruby In Steel. We are not aware of the explanation for this behaviour. It does, however, appear to be related to Visual Studio Team (Server) editions.

The solution is as follows:

- When the box pops up, right-click its caption bar and select Dockable.
- Drag the window somewhere and dock it.
- Right click its caption bar and select Hide.
- Save all.
