Ruby IDE Features, Pictures and Blog
You may have noticed a few changes to this site recently. For one thing, the Blog – which used to be on the front page – has been moved into its own separate little section.
Fear not, it’s not been forgotten. We’ll be blogging merrily away here just as much as we always have done in the past. However, as the launch date of the Developer Edition of Ruby In Steel draws ever closer, this will increasingly have to provide a whole load of information for potential purchasers (feel free to pass on the word to whoever it is in your company who signs the cheques!) as well as for Ruby developers.
We decided the sensible thing to do would be to have a fairly simple entry point to the site with links to all the relevant subsections such as the Features List, Screenshots, the Shop (coming real soon ;-) ) and, of course, this Blog. If you want to bypass all the other stuff and come right to the Blog, just bookmark this page. Anyway, you’ll find a nice big Blog tab at the top of every page – so, if you get lost, clicking that tab will bring you right here.
You’ll notice I mentioned the Features List and Screenshots a moment ago. Those are two new sections we’ve added to the site. Soon these will be joined by other new sections including movies to demo various features of the Developer edition and whitepapers to give in-depth technical information on some of the more arcane aspects of Ruby In Steel – such as its new ‘intelligent inference engine’ and optional ‘type assertions’ – both of which add IntelliSense and debugging features to Ruby without in any way changing the language or building in any kind of incompatibilities.
Anyhow, as I said, more on that later… :-)
