Flex In Visual Studio 2010

Amethyst for VS2010 ’edge’ release
by Dermot Hogan
Monday 3 May 2010.

You can now download and use Amethyst in Visual Studio 2010.

We’ve just released a version of Amethyst that works with Visual Studio 2010. This is based on the current beta for Visual Studio 2008 and has the same functionality.

We’ve built the Amethyst/VS2010 to work in a ’side-by-side’ fashion with Amethyst/2008 so you can run both Amethyst in VS2008 and VS2010 at the same time.

You can download the zip for Amethyst/VS2010 from here

Note: that this is an ’edge’ release. Our edge releases are used to introduce new features and they are not as thoroughly tested as our full beta releases. As this is the first VS2010 version, clearly we haven’t been able to do as much testing as with the VS2008 version so we recommend installing this version of Amethyst/VS2010 in a virtual machine.

Be sure to read the release notes in the forum and, if you have any comments or questions, please post them in the appropriate forum thread: http://sapphiresteel.com/forum/index.php?topic=438.0

We haven’t forgotten that ;-) but it’s not a trivial conversion, I’m afraid and currently our efforts are concentrated on the completion of Amethyst. We will have news on future versions of Ruby In Steel after the launch of Amethyst.
