Chapter Two Of the Book Of Ruby Now Online

The Book Continues
by Huw Collingbourne
Friday 30 May 2008.

I’ve just uploaded the second chapter of The Book Of Ruby - a free eBook to Ruby programming which will eventually span over 400 pages.

This chapter goes into the nitty-gritty details of creating class hierarchies with class variables, calling methods in super classes and using accessors to get and set instance variables. As before, all the source code (in chapter 2 there are 11 short programs) is provided in the download archive. If you are using Ruby In Steel you can load these as a single solution. If you are using some other IDE or editor, the source files may be loaded one at a time.
